She talks about why she likes painting rooms so much. She shares how because someone asked her to update a website she realized she loved writing code, and went to do a full stack boot-camp and right after she shares her incredible story to getting to work at VML. I am so glad for Day 9 of #29DaysofMagic with Cherie Beach, SVP of client strategy at Pep Promotions. We talk about her first job in the medical records department, and her long history of working in retail. Cherie shares about inroads, and how that helped her get an internship and the job at Kraft. As the 8th day of my delightful #29DaysofMagic! I am so delighted to have my cousin, Andrene Bonner, Literacy Gateway Institute, Workshop Facilitator & Coach.! We talk about how incredible journey, starting with her getting an acting scholarship to the United States, and in Europe. and After hitting the ceiling in Hollywood, she became a theater teacher. She has taught and led many amazing actors to high levels! Andrene shares about how her books have been able to assist teachers and parents to give students the tools they need for discuss . She shares how her decades of teaching, coaching and workshops led to create her business, Literacy Gateway. Andrene shares by utilizing roleplaying and improvisation, she is able to help parents learn to help teach their children alongside the teachers. We talk about how the world belongs to the creatives. She shares how the books she has written have affirmations that help the students, the parents and the teachers, and empowers them all to learn more and build their confidence. She's now taking this experience to the corporate world and helping companies communicate with GenZ employees, helping them develop their voices and presentation skills.

We talk about how when she graduated from college it was 2020 and she was robbed of getting to walk for graduation, and had to pivot from her journalism major to becoming a social media manager. Monique shares what it's like to manage social media for brands in today's internet climate. On Day 4 of #29DaysofMagic! I am so delighted to share Shawna Guevara's incredible story with you all! Shawna is the Managing Director, Landmark Strucutral Builders. Shawna learned about supply and demand in her first job at Kmart, and that they had the best cookies. She shares about what she does as the black woman owner of a construction company, and how much she loves the meticulous steps and processes of building commercial buildings.  Shawna talks about building commercial, industrial, and her favorite multifamily, and her close second of hospitals. One of the largest projects she had where she was building a hospital and three clinics! Shawna shares about how her goal is going to 100 million dollars in projects. We talk about how we, as black women, are not a monolith but also there is so much more to who we are as people. She shares about how much she loves extreme sports and perhaps it's because you have to lose yourself to stay alive during these sports.

On Day 3 of #29DaysofMagic! I am super excited to share Dr. Dara's phenomenal story with you all! Dean of William E. Macaulay Honors College. Dara shares about how her first job was after her school career was a Post-Doctoral Fellowship after she finished her PhD. She shares about living in Ottawa, and the incredibly diverse environments she got to be a part of while there. She tells about the incredible CUNY Macaulay Honors College and is in it's ability to invest in high achievers and have equity in the world. This college is tuition free, provides paid internships for high achieving students in NY, who come from lower income households. Her students, get the freedom to take calculated risks and how incredible it is to see how far above and beyond they go in working for helping out in volunteer work, sometimes, who are double, triple majoring. She talks about youth power and how the college can play a meaningful role in helping the youth become the problem solvers they are meant to be! Dara shares about a terrifying drive in a snow storm, helped her realize what she should be prioritizing in life, and pivot to having a more healthy work life balance. Dr. Dara would like to offer her incredibly talented students from Macaulay as many opportunities as possible and is asking for help to getting her students more opportunities to problem solve.
