What matters most to you today may look very different from what mattered ten, twenty, or thirty years ago.
In this episode of The Resilient Rebel Show, I sit down with Ann Ranson for a conversation about paying attention to those changes and giving ourselves permission to choose differently.
Ann and I met at a women’s gathering in Dallas and immediately found ourselves deep in conversation. So naturally, I invited her onto the show.
We talk about leaving a successful corporate career when the work no longer fed her soul, learning to work from our strengths instead of constantly trying to fix our weaknesses, and why so many women can become disconnected from what they actually want while taking care of everyone and everything around them.
We also explore Ann’s What Matters Most Method and the importance of stopping long enough to ask yourself some very simple but powerful questions.
• What matters most to me now?
• Where am I putting my energy?
• What would better actually look like?
• And what am I ready to say no to?
We also get into people pleasing, proving, perfectionism, purpose, aging, self-awareness, boredom, curiosity, belonging and why sometimes the next chapter of life asks us to stop doing more and start listening more closely.
Ann brings decades of executive experience in media, marketing and mission-driven leadership. She has led national teams, developed six and seven figure marketing initiatives, advised senior leaders and worked alongside CMOs in high-performance corporate environments. She is also a longtime member of the National Speakers Association and a two-time TEDx speaker. Alongside her corporate career, she has spent more than forty years studying personal and spiritual development.
One piece of wisdom from Ann stayed with me after our conversation.
Give yourself permission.
Permission to choose.
Permission to change your mind.
Permission to say no.
Permission to become more of who you already are.
I hope this conversation gives you a reason to pause and ask yourself what matters most in this season of your life.
