This week’s questions come from John 11:1-44
1) Can you think of a time in your life when you felt hopeless? What were the circumstances in your life that made you feel this way?
2) On Sunday, we discussed how “Jesus is the King of the comeback - which means you will always have hope if Jesus is your King.” How does the hope of a Jesus-follower differ from what we may see reflected in those who don’t know Jesus as their King?
3) Read John 11:1-4. In order for the Son of God to receive glory, Jesus didn’t go to heal Lazarus right away. How can Jesus receive glory from our suffering?
4) Read John 11:21. Have you ever felt like a “Martha” within your own circumstances - that it’s too late for Jesus to make a difference? Why have you felt that time is such an obstacle to the power of Christ?
5) Read John 11:25. What does Jesus’ “I am” statement mean for your life and your circumstances right now?
6) On Sunday, we discussed how Jesus made Mary and Martha wait because he loved them. Is there a situation that you are experiencing right now where you feel like Jesus is having you wait? What can this waiting produce in you?
