Today we're with Mimi Buttenheim President of Mad River Distillers. We talk about whiskey, rum, brandy, and running a small business in Vermont. Mad River Distillers make some of Vermont's most successful spirits producers with a tasting room in Burlington, and a distillery in Warren. 

Mimi also schools me on the differences between scotch, whiskey, bourbon, and brandy. She also explains the barrel aging process.

Mark talks about his experience in the documentary filmmaking business. He has dedicated his life to telling other people's stories, and what it takes to be a filmmaker in today's industry. His major breakthrough film A Band Called Death has reached a vast audience of millions, and took him on the film festival circuit around the country.

Rusty has made a name for himself as an actor, comedian, musician, and general entertainer. He built his brand from going door to door and town to town doing local shows, selling VHS, DVDs, and meeting his fans face to face. Listen to his amazing story as he built a business out of comedy, and a whole lot of ground game.

We’re here with Ronda Burns the Vice President of tourism and marketing for the Vermont Chamber of commerce. We talk with her about the Vermont brand get a glimpse into some of the things the VT Chamber of Commerce is doing with local business and state.

Paul has a long history of working in the radio business in New England. His father Si was a long time station owner, and he was able to learn a lot from him. 

"I started working for WVMT in 1976 as an intern, and then came to work full-time when I graduated from college. A man by the name of George Cameron was my boss, mentor. He offered me a job. My father started this company with George in Vermont. The only property was WVMT at the time, and the reason I was telling them when they were here taking the pictures, the reason it’s called Sison Broadcasting, my father was a very, very renowned radioman. He’s since deceased, and mostly smaller markets, and anywhere I’d go I’d say my name is Paul Goldman, and they say you must be Si’s son. So I ended up buying the company from him since it was his company, and I’m Si’s son. That’s the name of the company, it’s S-I-S-O-N. That stands for me being Si’s son, which is a source of great pride and admir– you know, pride for me."

Sas gives us her take on the Vermont brand, and talks about her own brand Stonecutter Spirits.
