Why are fandoms toxic? Well that is a million-dollar question, isn't it? We all remember Obiwan and Moses Ingram and just how ugly the fan racism was. Add on the problems with the sequel trilogy with John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran and it becomes quite obvious that the Star Wars fandom has a racism problem. But the question is why does Star Wars, a series about anti-fascism, invite so many racist fans? And how much of shaping the fandom fall on the creators of the properties? Can we please have a normal conversation about how bad the academy is? What? Will Smith did what!? I think this might be a distraction from the larger issue here.
