After losing nearly 150 pounds with the help of gastric sleeve surgery, Denise had already accomplished something incredible. But even after doing the hard work and maintaining her weight loss, the excess skin left behind made her feel like she was still “living in a body that didn’t suit me anymore.”

In this episode of The Reveal Room, we sit down with someone Dr. Michael Lynch affectionately calls his “OG” weight-loss patient. Denise shares the moment that started it all - not being able to get on a fair ride with her kids and the journey that eventually brought her to Plastic Surgeons of Lexington.

Episode 8: “I’m Back to Me!” | Melanie’s Story

For Melanie, plastic surgery wasn’t about looking like someone different. It was about feeling like herself again.

In her 60s, Melanie came to Dr. Hill for a facelift and neck lift. She later returned for upper and lower blepharoplasty, followed by a tummy tuck and breast augmentation.

She admits the idea of plastic surgery was scary at first, but says everything changed once she walked through the door for her consultation. “That first step in the office is the hardest part,” she shares. Her only regret? Not doing it sooner.

Dr. Hill puts it simply when talking about facelift surgery: “It’s not to make you look different, it’s to make you look more like yourself.”

And that’s exactly how Melanie feels today. She says she looks more like the person she remembers seeing in the mirror in her 20s, 30s and 40s, and, most importantly, “I’m much happier now. I’m back to me.”
