The Word for entering the Kingdom of God

Christians believe that because the 'say' that they love Jesus, and the He loves them, that they believe they are automatically saved into eternal life. Yet according to the words of Jesus that He gave to His own eyewitness disciples while He was here on earth this concept of salvation by faith through grace does not seem to apply to the words of Jesus that say you must be inside the Kingdom of God to gain eternal life. But Christians then say that this is the same idea that Paul proposed, the founded the Christian church, which is the Kingdom of God on earth. These two concepts actually do not operate together; they are 180 degrees out of phase with one another.
