From 2009 when indicted, through his nine-month 2012 prison sentence, Mike coped by studying and practicing yoga, with the goal of eventually sharing its power. Beginning first with those in the justice system then adding at-risk populations in recovery, veterans, and others dealing with traumas, Mike’s dream grew and in 2013 he founded the Transformation Yoga Project in Philadelphia. It now conducts over 350 classes per month, and more than 65,000 people in three states and 50 locations have participated.
Mike is also the author of Going Om a behind-the-scenes look at life in a men’s correctional facility, complete with alarming and surprisingly funny stories.
