The Greater Texas Paranormal Society was founded in early 2012 by myself with a lot of help from my husband Harry. The founding of the group was the result of many years of interest in the paranormal and not being able to find a suitable group to join to further my interest in the field. Prior to 2012, I participated in various investigations both locally and in various other states.
The group is located in San Marcos, Texas Prior to May 2015, the group was located in Galloway New Jersey and operated as the Galloway Township Paranormal Society.
Since its founding, the size of the group has varied from as many as 10 members to as few as our current 4 members. Current members are Dave Shelton– investigator, Bob Cloney - part time investigator, Harry Maxfield – Tech Manager / researcher and myself as Lead Investigator. For my team, I seek individuals that have a sincere interest in paranormal investigations and that have the time and resources available to dedicate to the task.
My group meets once per month and averages one investigation per month. We investigate private homes and commercial businesses as well as historic sites. We have conducted investigations at many historic locations such as the Historic Absecon Lighthouse in Atlantic City, New Jersey (twice), The Historic Marconi Hotel in Wall Township, New Jersey (3 times), The Samuel Haldeman Mansion in Pennsylvania, Bube’s Brewery in Pennsylvania, Eastern State Penitentiary in Pennsylvania, The Gabriel Davies House in New Jersey, The Salem Creekside Inn in Pennsylvania and the Round House Museum in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey , the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi and the Phoenix Saloon in New Braunfels Texas. We will be investigating The Olde Park Hotel in Balinger Texas on March 29th.
Our approach to investigations is to conduct extensive research, investigate in a professional manner with the mindset to debunk everything we can and then consider what remains to be of a possible paranormal nature.
