God has provided righteousness apart from the law through Christ, and he credits that righteousness (alien righteousness) to those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God and has died and been raised to life. God hasn’t changed his plan, he has revealed it in its fullness through Christ. Salvation does not depend on our works but on faith alone.
