Episode Directed by Wayne Yip
Series showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay

Queen Regent Míriel has a vivid dream of the destruction of Númenor by The Great Wave. With tensions in the city rising, the dream and its portents shape Queen Miriel’s dealings with Galadriel and her decision to send her back to Middle-Earth and away from Númenor. Placed in prison Galadriel’s neighbour, Halbrand, offers her some advice to slow down, understand her captors and be less confrontational with the Queen. As Pharazon comes to collect Galadriel for departure, she escapes to the tower to seek an audience with the true King of Numenor, Miriel’s father.
But the Queen is already there and takes the opportunity to show Galadriel the vision of Númenor's destruction in a palantír. Galadriel convinces Míriel to join the fight against the Orcs in the Southlands. As preparations begin for war Isildur pledges himself to the effort. Arrondir meets Adar, who appears to be a scarred elf from the Elder Days. Adar releases Arrondir, giving him a message to be passed onto the humans who have taken refuge in the old elven Watchtower. They have the opportunity to surrender and swear fealty to Adar. But with food running out, Theo and Rowan go scavenging back at their village, Tirharad. As Rowan is scared off by the Orcs they learn that Theo holds the dark sword hilt they seek. As Theo tries to escape from the orcs he is helped by Arrondir and his mother Bronwyn.
Meanwhile in Khazad-dûm the Dwarves have found mithril and keep it a secret, but Elrond discovers the mine and swears an oath to Prince Durin to keep his secret. Heading back to Lindon with Elrond, King Durin III informs his son to discover what the Elves of Lindon are up to.

The Rings Of Power Episode 3 Adar SynopsisEpisode Written by Jason Cahill and Justin Doble
Episode Directed by Wayne Yip
Series showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay
Based on "The Lord of the Rings" and appendices by J.R.R. Tolkien
After being adrift in the Sundering Sea Galadriel and Halbrand are rescued by a ship captained by Elendil, but are their rescuers friend or foe? They are taken to the Land of the Star, Númenor, an island kingdom ruled by Men who fought Morgoth alongside the Elves.
The relations between the Númenóreans and the Elves have grown strained over time and the arrival of an Elf to their lands is a cause for controversy. Queen Regent Míriel denies Galadriel's request for a ship back to Middle-earth. Watched over by Elendil, he speaks of the continued influence of Elves in his lands and takes Galadriel to visit a library of lore built by Elrond's brother Elros. There she discovers that the mark of Sauron is actually a map of the Southlands where a new realm for evil forces is planned. She also learns that Halbrand, who is imprisoned after fighting some Númenórean sword smiths, is the king of the Southlands.
As the Harfoots prepare for their seasonal migration, the Stranger is revealed while trying to read some star charts that Nori has taken from Sadoc’s star-book. Nori and her family are reprived from being left behind, despite breaking the laws of the community, but they must travel at the back of the caravan. The next day as they migrate, with Nori’s wagon lagging behind the rest of the caravan trail, they discover a stow away, the Stranger, who helps his new friends on their migration.
In the Southlands, Arrondir has been captured by Orcs and taken to a construction camp digging underground passages so Orcs can travel during the day. His Elven compatriots have also been captured, but are killed during an attempted escape. Arrondir survives but is taken to the mysterious Orc leader, Adar.

Episode 1 "A Shadow of The Past" Synopsis
The elven world of Valinor lives in peace but a war arrives when the Dark Lord Morgoth attacks their homeland. They sail to Middle Earth to engage their foe and his forces, and after centuries of fighting Morgoth is defeated. Hi cunning servant Sauron remains and is tracked by the elf Finrod, who is killed and marked by Sauron. Finrod's sister Galadriel vows to continue the pursuit of Sauron. Galadreil and her company find an abandoned fortress in the northern wastelands of Forodwaith which bears Sauron's mark, but her companions insist that they return to the Elven capital Lindon, where High-king Gil-galad proclaims the war against Morgoth's forces to be over. He grants Galadriel a bitter gift - the honour of sailing to Valinor where she can live a peaceful life for all eternity - as she believes work still remains to rid Middle Earth Sauron and his evil.
In the Southlands of Middle-earth, Elves watch over Men descended from allies of Morgoth. To the disapproval of the others, the Elf Arrondir has developed a close relationship with the human healer Bronwyn. Together they discover that the town of Horden has been destroyed, while Bronwyn's son Theo finds a broken sword bearing Sauron's mark.
Sailing westwards and close to Valinor, Galadriel chooses to turn back and continue the search for Sauron, jumping from the ship into the Sundering Seas. At the same time, two curious Harfoots, Nori Brandyfoot and Poppy Proudfellow, discover a strange man inside a meteor crater.
Episode 2 "Adrift" Synopsis
Attempting to swim back to Middle-earth, Galadriel comes across a raft with human survivors of a shipwreck. She is rescued but the survivors come to distrust her when she is found to be an elf. Things turn worse, when the raft is attacked by a sea creature that had originally attacked the survivors ship. Galadriel and only one of the survivors, Halbrand of the Southlands, escape the ordeal. Halbrand explains that he is fleeing from Orcs, and through a storm he and Galadriel become bound together as they survive the storm.
Meanwhile, Nori and Poppy keep the stranger secret from the other Harfoots and give him food and shelter. He does not speak their language, but uses fireflies and apparent magic to indicate that he is searching for a constellation of stars that Nori does not recognize, but she knows of someone who can help.
Back in the Southlands Arrondir sends Bronwyn back to her own village to warn them of the danger, as he investigates strange tunnels beneath Horden, but is captured by an unknown creature. Back at her town Tirharad, Bronwyn’s warning is ignored. But back at her house she and Theo are attacked by an Orc emerging from tunnels. They are able to kill it, and use its head as proof of danger to convince the rest of the town to leave.
In Lindon, Gil-galad sends the Elf Elrond to assist the great Elven smith Celebrimbor, who is planning to build a powerful new forge. Elrond suggests they seek help from the Dwarves, and goes to his friend Prince Durin IV in Khazad-dûm. Durin is angry that Elrond has not visited in 20 years, but his wife Disa convinces him to hear Elrond's proposal.
