Update 22/02/2014: Shortly after this episode was recorded, it was revealed that Facebook had bought the popular mobile messaging app, WhatsApp, for a record $16bn. Could this be a desperate attempt by the social network to cling to a new trend and maintain its relevance? Quite possibly.
