Our favourite part is Antaraa reflecting on the chance TED talk that led to a life-changing volunteering experience and finally to her starting Civis.
Michele Grosso started off in corporate insurance. A chance move to Egypt and then Dubai as part of his job enabled him to see the necessity and potential of insurance in emerging markets. Fast forward 6 years, and Michele is now co-founder and CEO of an insurtech that hopes to create social value. In this episode, Michele talks about what led him to take the plunge into entrepreneurship. We loved seeing how different parts of Michele's career and background all come together in his work today.
Aditi Singh started her career as a corporate lawyer, before pivoting to impact consulting. Now, as an Associate Partner at Dalberg, she's finally found her calling. In this episode, Aditi talks about her transitions, and how her time as a financial lawyer led to her working on financial inclusion and finally came together in enabling skilling for mass entrepreneurship. Our favourite part of the conversation is her describing the portfolio view she has of impact in her career.
Marco Duso has found his calling advising corporates to become sustainable. Most people don't think of traditional strategy consulting as particularly impactful, but Marco believes otherwise. In this episode, he talks about his aha moment, that led to focusing on climate change and how he channeled that to help set up BCG's Climate Action Centre. We were fascinated by his definition and experience of impact in his career.
Michelle Heah is a banker turned impact investor, who found her time in banking was instrumental in shaping her understanding of her own career desires. She talks about what banking taught her, why and how she switched to the impact side, and how different the challenges she faced on this job were. We loved listening to Michelle's nuanced thoughts that led her to her dream job, as Investment Manager of Lendahand, a crowdfunding impact platform.
