Some helpful tips to ensure survival of this beginning holiday season.

How many times have you tried to change a habit?  If your like me, you stopped counting after the third time and you usually when you start again you roll your eyes to your yourself, take a deep breathe and say, alright lets try again.  We try, we fail, we start again or eventually just stop trying altogether.  Why does this process keep happening?  Because you are trying to change something without accountability.

The Rival will tell you you can do it on your own-in fact there is a lot of popular belief that you can manage on your own.  And while you do have the capacity to survive alone-I would challenge that you thrive the greatest in community.  

The strong know they stand a greater chance at success when you approach that battles of life with an army at your side than if you are alone.

Here are some benefits of adopting a tribe.

We are hardwired to consume.  Our physical bodies need to consume water, oxygen, and of course my favorite-food.  Our metaphysical selves crave intangible things like love and acceptance.  Obviously these are not complete lists but you get the idea.  But like all things, when consumption abused it becomes detrimental.

What excuses are you making?  How do they impact your life?

In our quest to be happy or good people think that answering yes to things in our life is the best thing for us.  Most of the time it occurs in our inner dialogue. Should I eat that? Should I go there?  Should I watch this? etc.  Most often we indulge and do whatever we feel like doing regardless of the consequences. 

While we are creating a vision for the lives we want to live, it is important to include the different roles that we play in life.

We sometimes get overwhelmed by the number of roles we play in life, the number of hats we wear.  I think this becomes less overwhelming when we create vision for each role we play.
