The word “Behold” is an archaic word that is rarely used in modern translations. Its meaning is “Look. See. Notice this specific thing.” In older translations it is often used to show how God is calling his people to take special note of what he is doing.
For Advent, we will walk through several texts, a couple from the Old Testament and several from the New, that note God’s unique work of redemption and how — when he’s doing that work — he wants his people to mark unique places of his work.
