Paul was not poor. Paul was being sarcastic when he spoke of the thorn in his flesh. The great mystery of the New Testament is that Gentiles were accepted and that believing Jews tried to kill Paul for it. Jesus is still a man and yet still God.

Jacob was not a deceiver. The Law was never intended for Gentiles. Joshua did not let the sun go down on his wrath. Jesus did not pray to escape the cross. Jesus was not poor.

Isaiah 55 tells us of the "Sure Mercies of David" and the Abundant Pardon that God offers to all who believe. Here we learn that God doesn't think about getting even. He thinks about getting over it!
