Velina and Kydeon are both volunteers at RiverLife Community Services. Velina responded to the call to volunteer in RLCares to reach out to Tampines rental flats where she got to know Jin Di and Family. She later on also served in the RCS BLESS Family as Jin Di’s family befriender that provided more holistic support for the family alongside RCS programmes. Through the befriending relationship, Velina also invited Jin Di and her 3 daughters to RLC Chinese service. The family has since become a part of the RLC family. Kydeon began as a tutor in RCS in 2019 where he provided 1-1 tuition to Secondary school students. Apart from interacting with pre-teens through the programme, he also volunteered in the youth programme in our annual youth camp last year. Currently, he is volunteering under the youth programme as a mentor through the drop-in and outdoor mentoring platforms.

Enoch and Eunice became foster parents in 2019, welcoming B into their home as a 1 year old infant. What was initially a short term arrangement meant to last a few months was the beginning of a 1.5 year journey, before she was reintegrated with her natural parents. After taking a break, in October 2022 they again responded to another call and opened up their home to M; she just turned 5 in January. This time, God challenged them to open their hearts in an additional dimension - M also has special needs, and requires more care than other 5 year olds. Esther began MustardSky in 2016 with 3 other partners, to help a group of Cambodians who are affected by polio condition. They design and produce bags and pouches for sale, providing employment and a sustainable income for a group of Cambodians affected by polio.

After graduating from university, David founded Wateroam, where they develop and design their own unique water filtration system that caters specifically to disaster-hit and rural communities, providing them with access to these simple-to-use systems and quick-to-deploy systems that can be used by lay people without technical know-how. Moved by the sight of children drinking from contaminated water sources during his many mission trips and overseas community projects, he answered God’s call to combine his livelihood skills and missions to serve.
