Jets trading QB Justin Fields to Chiefs for 2027 sixth-round pick. Had the Jets released Justin Fields, they would’ve had to eat $10M in guaranteed money. By trading him, they take on just $7M, KC takes on $3M. Jets GM Darren Mougey has turned into one of the most active trading GMs in the league. He’s made 10+ trades in a little over a year on the job. As part of the trade, the Jets are giving Justin Fields an $8M signing bonus, plus he will earn $3M fully guaranteed salary from the Chiefs for a total of $11M.
Cardinals signed former Jaguars safety Andrew Wingard, who started 16 games last season and finished second on the team in tackles, to a one-year contract.
Cardinals have signed former Bears DT Andrew Billings.
Panthers and P Sam Martin have agreed to terms on a 2-year contract worth up to $5M to land Martin back in Carolina.
Lions LB Grant Stuard joins Rams on two-year deal.
Colts signed former Cowboys S Juanyeh Thomas.
Raiders have signed former Colts free agent LB Segun Olubi.
Dolphins signed veteran OT Charlie Heck, who spent last season with the Buccaneers.
49ers and WR Christian Kirk agreed to terms on a one-year deal for $6M.
Veteran CB Darius Slay is retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons and a Super Bowl ring. Spent 7 years with Detroit, 5 with Philadelphia and his final year with the Steelers (and sort of on the Bills).
Nate Diaz will fight Mike Perry in a five rounds MMA fight. The fight will go down on the undercard of Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano on Netflix.
Calgary, Edmonton, and Prague will be the hosts for the 2028 World Cup of Hockey. Calgary and Prague will host the round robin of the World Cup, with the semifinals and final in Edmonton. The tournament will take place in February of 2028.
Steve Kerr now has 600 career wins. He becomes the 28th head coach in NBA history to reach that mark.
