In this sermon, Ps. Yen explores how God often interrupts our plans not to derail us, but to redirect us. Through the story of Saul on the road to Damascus, we see that disruption is not always a sign of being outside God’s will. Sometimes it is proof that we are right in the center of it. Saul’s mission was stopped, his certainty shattered, and his identity undone—not to destroy him, but to reveal Christ to him. His interruption became transformation.
But the story does not end with Saul. It also introduces Ananias, an ordinary disciple whose obedience in a disruptive moment helped shape history. This message challenges us to examine whether our interruptions are invitations. Are we resisting correction, or being prepared for assignment? Divine disruption may be God’s way of exposing false confidence, realigning our perspective, and positioning us to become the answer to someone else’s breakthrough.
Key verse:
Acts 9:3-9 NIV
“As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.”
