This year will require you to trust in the Lord with all your heart, soul, and strength as you continue to advance towards the promises that He has given you in His Word. This year will be a year of losses and victories as you press towards the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Are you in search of the truth? These times are not for the faint of heart but for those who are determined to see God’s Kingdom come and His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. The valiant will fall in battle but the battle will not be for naught. The battle, what we are facing in today’s world, is more important than us. The victory is sure for those who refuse to quit and continue to advance towards God’s Kingdom. Stay the course and advance! This is the year of progress against seemingly unsurmountable odds so keep your eyes on Him and do not be overcome by the enemy. He has already won the victory for you!

Biblical fasting is abstaining from food for a spiritual purpose. We are going after Him when we fast. It’s not about what we are depriving ourselves of but rather what we are prioritizing. Prayer and fasting do not move and manipulate God to do something that He wasn’t planning on doing, it moves our hearts into alignment with Him. We fast to become better people because we get more of Him!

Who do you answer to? Prayer and fasting is one way of humbling ourselves before God. When we humble ourselves, we are bowing down to something that is greater than us. God doesn’t humble us we have to do it ourselves. Humbling and submitting ourselves to the Lord not only benefits us but it benefits our little ones or the people we have an impact on. Does good news mean the absence of bad news? Receiving good news does not always come without opposition. When Jesus was born it was good news for the whole world but from a human standpoint was bad news for Joseph. After Joseph had already made a promise and commitment to Mary he found out that she was pregnant. She was pregnant by the Holy Spirit, and He had to reveal that to Joseph Himself. Joseph had to trust the Holy Spirit in the process when he wasn’t sure what and how things were happening. The Holy Spirit brings good news but sometimes it comes with opposition!

Is the Bible accurate? In the book of Daniel God speaks through a dream and predicts the rise and fall of world leaders for the next 2,000 years after the dream was given. All of it came to pass just as He spoke it. He also spoke clearly about the days the antichrist would be active on the Earth. Just like the Empires and leaders that fell before him, he will also fall. Jesus is returning and His team is the winning team!

Are you enduring until the end? Many will be deceived because they won’t look for the truth. Be ready to be the few because the timid - the many - won’t want to pay the cost of enduring. The end hasn’t come yet, but we will be hated for His name's sake. We will have to endure the hatred not ignore it. It’s not about those who start but those who endure. If we endure until the end we will be saved!

Judas, one of the twelve disciples, betrayed Jesus and the eleven others were deceived. Judas had spent every day traveling and living with them yet they did not see his true intentions and deception. When we get away from the truth of God we open ourselves up to the lies of the devil. Neglecting the Word of God makes it hard to see the lies and deception that we come in contact with. We have a choice to be on the losing team, the devil, or the winning team, Jesus.
