In Christ you are FREE, because He made you free. LIBERTY is available to every person no matter your race or gender - EVERYONE! It's available for you to take and apply. God gives us the ability to choose to apply His Liberty. You can't experience it, if you don't apply it. God loves you whether you embrace Him or reject Him. Our Liberty that God gave us - comes in connection and requires us to love and serve one another. Don't use your freedom in Christ to get out of "loving your neighbor as yourself." It's not how that works. LOVE needs to be in front of everything - our platform, our position our belief. LOVE COMES FIRST!

Race, status, and gender are on the same playing field in Christ. They are all equal in opportunity and equal in need. We all need a Savior! Though we are all equal in Christ, oppression, and injustice still happen in our world today. We have to acknowledge the injustice that happens in our society even if we have not contributed to it. Racism and injustice cannot be in Christ.

“And we no longer see each other in our former state – Jew or non-Jew, rich or poor, male or female – because we’re all one through our union with Jesus Christ with no distinction between us.” Galatians 3:28.

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and WHERE the Spirit of the Lord is, THERE is LIBERTY.

When we are filled with Holy Spirit, we have liberty in our life. The Holy Spirit is not just with us, but in us - God dwelling on the inside of us. His presence in us - LIBERTY located in us - brings us freedom from addiction, breaks off chains and attitudes. When we are filled with Holy Spirit, and Living in Liberty, what we were once afraid of - we'll start preaching to!

As we live in unprecedented times of social distancing we are far more removed from people than we have been in the past. Though we are not able to gather together as a community God is still drawing near to us and moving in our world in a unique way. He has hit the pause button in our lives and invited us to lean in and draw close to Him again. We have more time to be engaged in His presence and hear from Him than ever before, all we have to do is accept the invitation that He has placed before us. God is not a socially distant God! He loves to draw near to our hearts and lives!

What is your focus on? Distraction from the promises of God and the places we are going can keep us from overcoming. If we focus on the promises of God above all else we can partake from His promises! What we focus on is what we partake from. When we know what God’s promises in our lives are we have to pursue them. When we reach our inheritance, promise, we have to possess it. The promises of God are given to us by His grace but possessed by our faith.

When we have the word of the Lord in our hearts we can speak with confidence that we will overcome! The opposition that we see may be great but He who is within us is greater. The word of the Lord helps us to have the spiritual stamina to endure the process of overcoming. We have to drive out the opposition with confrontation. We will never drive out what we will not confront! If the Lord is with us it is no longer a ‘maybe’, WE SHALL OVERCOME!

When we are faced with real-life hardships and circumstances we can choose to, passively accept a life that is less than what God has intended, or we can fight to overcome the opposition to live the best life God has for us! The process of overcoming evil – negative actions, thought patterns or negative things that have been said or done to us, etc. – with the goodness of God creates opposition. “Good” is not just an option for behavior but a weapon in your arsenal!

Why will we overcome? Caleb was certain that the one – God – who was WITH them could overcome. He was certain of the ability, the power, the might to endure and prevail that came from partnering with the Lord. The uncertainty of what was ahead of him was overcome by the certainty of Who was with him. When we are with God we are overcomers!

Overcoming Power-

Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection was the opening of a door into the possibilities of walking into something the Father has prepared for us! God has prepared – through Jesus – a different life and inheritance for us. Just like the spies in Numbers 13, we have to see the inheritance and the different life or we will never know that there is a different way to live. When we see that God has a different life for us we still have to take possession of it and the promises He has for us. God requires a response to His direction to complete the overall process. The process of possession is in cooperation with God not independent of Him. To take possession we will have to overcome opposition. We are able to overcome opposition with God’s power that will endure and prevail! Will you choose to respond to God’s direction and overcome your opposition?
