Jerry Colonna is a sought after coach, author, CEO and cofounder of Reboot.io, an executive coaching and leadership development firm dedicated to the notion that better humans make better leaders. More importantly, he is a wise elder in a world where we need them more than ever.

Doniga Markegard is a wildlife tracker, regenerative rancher, speaker, and author of Dawn Again: Tracking the Wisdom of the Wild and Wolf Girl: Finding Myself in the Wild. 

Her teen years in nature school started her on a path that led to a career in animal tracking and then permaculture and ranching in at her farm in California, Markegard Family Grass-Fed, where she works to regenerate both soil and community through farming. Using the innovative, carbon-storing methods of regenerative ranching, she’s restoring the land she tends, bringing native grasses and wildlife back.

When I ran to the local Walmart a couple months ago for an early morning errand, I never expected it to lead to a social experiment in generosity and taking the pulse of what’s really happening in the minds, hearts and spirits of a lot of women right now.

25 or so conversations later with ladies 17 to 82, from diverse backgrounds and across the globe; I felt compelled to do my first solo podcast to bring you into the conversation.

I'm coming at you live today from Utah where I've been teaching for the past week at criss crossers Adapt Live conference. If you don't know, Chris Kresser check him out chriskresser.com or you can listen to episode 38 of the Robyn Ivy Podcast.

What's been amazing about this retreat is first being in the mountains in Utah, it has been such a humbling reminder of our own significance and insignificance simultaneously.

There's something about being in the presence of nature that is so majestic that I cannot help but reframe my awareness to one that puts a higher power at the front and center of my life or my thinking for the day, these mountains are just vast and stunning. They radiate this incredibly liberating and grounding energy.

At the same time, some of what this conference this retreat has really focused on is getting unstuck and the many ways that we can do that truly.

It has surrounded itself around mindfulness, mindfulness practices, mindfulness consideration; because what's true is that any time we're trying to change, anytime we're willing to engage with the change - whether it's creating something that's new and possible in our lives or making sense of things that just haven't been the place from which we begin - that is really the center of our stillness. Without that we do not have the agency to access which parts of ourselves, which ways of being We we don't have access to what we actually need and really might be helpful.

There's 50 people here and we've been deep in conversation about the momentum of our lives, the shoulds, the utilitarian nature of what we need to get done, the conversation around what I just need to and if I could just I just need to and well, once I get that and when I get that right and being so outcome driven as human beings and postponing the reward until we've fill in the blank, proven our worth, done the thing, consider ourselves enough and when is that actually right?

So getting in stuck has a lot to do with getting still first and being present for where the change is wanting to shift and maybe is shifting whether you want that to be that way or not.

There's a possibility that comes when we move out of 'this or that'. What one of the things I was teaching is about moving out of duality about the your way, my way, this or that, these two options, these two things, that the right way, the wrong way my way,... that really when we come up with a third option, if it's one or the other, we're really in a quagmire, we're in a stalemate. We're immediately in conflict actually.

And when we find a third possibility, when we choose a third option, when we create spaciousness and our own thinking that a third way, 4th 5th 6th, when we're willing to consider other alternatives, even though especially when we say, "look, I'm not going to", this isn't about acting on those choices, this isn't about coming up with three or four realistic possible doable strategies to unhook yourself or solve your problem, but rather it is in the spaciousness and the flexibility of our thinking and moving through our states of being, that we are more quickly able to get unstuck and out of that conflict, out of that, this or that out of the duality and back into like well I wonder what if maybe if I.

Maybe, let's see - what if - I wonder.

And just getting back into the states of that, that wonder and that curiosity, experimentation curiosity and meeting ourselves with an unconditional positive regard.

These are these are the things that we've been talking about this week and I want to share them with you because I know they're really valuable teachings and lessons that are applicable to all of us, no matter where we are on this human spectrum right now.I

I'm a bit sorry to be out of touch.
