Daniel and his 3 friends have been enrolled in the University of Babylon, but they have stood their ground and avoided total assimilation into this pagan culture. In chapter 2 the tables turn as we see that it is the powerful and mighty King whose dreams cause fear to enter his heart.

Daniel and his three friends have been taken into captivity, they've been enrolled in the University of Babylon and had all of their names changed to names that glorified the pagan gods of Babylon. It was part of their assimilation as was the King's table food and wine that they were told they had to eat and drink. This week we discover that this was the line in the sand that Daniel and the boys would not cross!
