  • Distracted

When Jesus arrived at the home of Mary and Martha we see two different reactions. Mary sits at the feet of Jesus listening to His word, while Martha is worried and distracted with so many other things. We can all be like Martha as the world seeks to draw us away from the good things of God. Are you distracted today? Our life is but a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. How are you spending it?

  • The Gospel Is... Deed & Truth

The Bible calls us to exemplify Christ in how we live for the purpose of shining the light of the gospel. The gospel loves people in deed and truth as well as in words. This is accomplished when we see people as Jesus saw people. Christians are called to see the poor, destitute, hungry, homeless outcasts of society. While surface religion may pass them all by, true religion stops and shows mercy at our own expense. This type of love shines a true light into the darkness. Do you love in deed and truth or only in word and tongue?

  • The Gospel Is... Costly

When Jesus was led away to a trial, Peter followed Him at a distance to see the outcome. Following Jesus has a great cost. True Christ followers will endure the loss of their reputation, relationships, and earthly privilege. In a hatred of the convicting power of the gospel, people will malign those who preach it. While the world seeks fairness, the Christian shines the light of the gospel by turning the other cheek, enduring injustice, and welcoming persecution. How closely will you follow this Christ?

  • The Gospel Is... Unashamed

Romans 1 speaks of not being ashamed of the gospel as it is the power of God unto salvation. We must not be ashamed of the preaching of the gospel. How shall they hear without a preacher? We must not be ashamed of the cross of Christ. The world may call it too simple or not miraculous enough, but to the one being saved, it is eternal life. We must not be ashamed of the grace of the gospel. Our past sin, having been forgiven by God is shown as an example of the perfect patience toward those who will believe.

  • The Gospel Is... Pure

The Bible speaks of the gospel as being of first importance. As recipients of the merciful grace of God, we are called to live and proclaim the gospel with the utmost purity. We are called to be pure people who renounce the deeds of darkness and walk as children of light. We are called to proclaim the true gospel without any distortion whatsoever. Do you know, live and proclaim the pure gospel?

  • The Lost Sheep

In Luke 15, Jesus talks about the parable of the lost sheep. The shepherd left the ninety-nine to go and seek the one lost sheep. Who is that one lost sheep in your life? How can you better seek to share the hope of Christ with them?

  • Speak Lord

When the Lord called to Samuel, he responded, “Speak, for Your servant is listening.” God still speaks to His people. He speaks to us by His Spirit, through circumstances, people and His Word. Is the Lord speaking to you? Will you listen and respond?

  • What is Your Name?

When Jacob, fearing for his life, was left alone at the edge of the river, a mysterious man appeared and wrestled with him until day break. Having his hip dislocated, weeping, and pleading for God’s favor, the angel asked, “What is your name?” We all have things attached to our names. Some of those things aren’t our fault while others are. God promises to give a new name to all who come to him by faith. What is your name?

  • Justified

Regardless of the good deeds we may do, or our attempts to live a holy life, no one is righteous before God. It is because of Christ's sacrifice on the cross that we have peace with God and our sins are washed away. He declares us justified before the Father and no outside circumstance can alter our status before Him.

  • Edification

As the Bible calls our words to always be with salt and good for edification. Our words ought to be good in content, refraining from unwholesome and course talk. We should speak with good timing according to the need of the moment. Speaking in this way, led by the Holy Spirit will ensure that our words have a good effect to the hearer.
