  • Shepherd My Sheep

After having denied Jesus 3 times, The Lord returns to Peter to graciously recommission him. Jesus examines the motive of Peter’s faithfulness when He asks him, “Do you love Me?”. Three times in subtly different ways, Jesus calls Peter to care for the flock of God. Those who truly love Him, will walk in faithfulness. Those with other motives for serving are always revealed. What is your motive in serving Jesus?

  • All In

Jesus had called His disciples to abandon the pursuits of the world and commit to His mission. However, after the resurrection we find several of them going back to their old way of life. When they haul in empty nets, Jesus comes to them to remind them that He is their ultimate provider. Peter then jumps in the water to go to Jesus. Many lives are as hollow and empty as those nets because people have returned to what God called them out of. Perhaps it’s time for some to go “all in” for The Lord.

  • Thomas Called Didymus

When Jesus had risen from the dead, some doubted the authenticity of the resurrection. Knowing of the Thomas’s skepticism, Jesus appeared to him, showing the scars on his hands and feet and side. Many times, we battle with doubt and discouragement. However, in His Grace, The Lord is able to meet us in our doubt and bring help, clarity and blessing.

  • Did God actually say?

    I remember having questions like
    • Is there actually only one God?
    • Is Jesus really the only way to salvation?
    • Is Bible really God’s Word?

Sometimes I would even waver in my faith, wondering if any of this religious stuff was true. But I say “remember” intentionally because I no longer wonder these questions. “Why,” you ask? Because the Word of God has answered them.

Every day we face temptations from Satan to question the truth of God’s Word. He uses the lust of our flesh to entice us and drag us away into sin so that we can follow him into eternal death. Just like when the serpent came to Eve in the Garden of Eden, Satan comes to tempt us by asking us, “Did God actually say…?” When we take time to consider Satan’s words and doubt the Word of God, we are dragged into sin. But are we bound to this cycle of temptation—sin—death? Are we bound to repeat this till the day we die or can we be free? Can we be confident in the Word of God and be freed from doubt that leads to the bondage to sin?

I wonder if Satan were to come to you like he did Eve and ask you, “Did God actually say?” Would you know if God said it or would you find yourself confused and being dragged into sin?

Join us today as we examine how Satan tempts us and how the Word of God teaches we can overcome this temptation to sin against the Word of God.

  • Receive The Holy Spirit

When Jesus appeared to the apostles after His resurrection, He commissioned them to accomplish the mission of the gospel. He promised they would be sent forth in the power of The Holy Spirit. He also told them that they would forgive and retain sins of people. All of this would be accomplished primarily through the preaching of the true gospel and continues to this day.

Are you on this mission operating with Holy Spirit power?

  • Mary Magdalene

Mary Magdalene was the first person to find the empty tomb. She was the first person to whom Jesus appeared and she was the first person to announce to the apostles that Jesus had risen from the dead. Her words appeared to them as nonsense. Perhaps in part because she was a formerly demon possessed woman in a culture that had little regard for women. Jesus continues to choose the weak, base and despised things of this world to confound the wise. If only we avail ourselves to Him, He will use us when nobody else deems us worthy.
