  • Time
On average you will get 613,000 hours or 70 years to live in your life. To spend as you will. Most will spend 203,000 hours of it sleeping, leaving you with about 2/3rds of your life left. Sadly, many of us will choose to spend the rest of our life serving ourselves or pleasing our flesh with everything that we do rather than serving God. How will you spend your remaining 410,000 hours of life?
By the time you start middle school, over 103,000 of those hours are gone. You have 50,000 hours in your middle and high school years. Hours where you don't have kids, full-time jobs, or a spouse to jockey for your time. The Bible tells us to redeem the time we have, to make the most of every opportunity, because life passes quickly and the message of the gospel is urgent. What if you chose to devote 1 of those hours every week, 364 hours between 6th and 12th grade, to directly spreading the gospel? Or 5 minutes of every hour you're awake or just over an hour a day to prayer? Meditating on scripture? Better yet, choose to pick up the call in scripture to use every moment, every conversation, every decision to glorify God as a witness to others, seizing the day for Christ. How would that small thing make a big difference in your life?

  • Words
Every single day we use an average of 16,000 words. Communicating to people is central to are existence. But what do the words we use say about us? Luke 6:45 teaches us that out of our mouth flows what is in our heart. So those 16,000 words that we use each day, no matter how small they are or how few of they we use, matter because they show others what the intent of our heart is. We are demonstrating to people and to God who we are in the deep recesses of our heart.

  • Relationships
Every single day we make decisions about who we are going to hang out with- at school, at work, at church, at home, at the football game, etc… Although we don't always treat this decision very seriously, we float from group to group or person to person with no forethought of why we are hanging out with them.
The problem is that relationships mold who we are and the things we do! Therefore we must be careful to think about the relationships we have, no matter how small they seem, and determine if its worth allowing it to mold who we are.
