Right before Jesus died, an eyewitness to His crucifixion wrote, "When Jesus had tasted it, He said, 'It is finished!' Then He bowed His head and released His spirit." (John 19:30). The final words of Jesus were not words of defeat but victory. In the presence of the Father, it was a cry marking the birth of a new covenant relationship between God and man.
