The Roleplaying Exchange Podcast

Shaken by a nightmare he can't shake off, the siblings find themselves in a race against the clock: whatever's happened to Anna, they've got two weeks to fix it. All that stands between them and answers is a ruined necromancer's keep — and whatever's still moving in it.

David - GM

Adam - Assie - A dark elf rogue who aged out of the orphanage and never quite left trouble behind — now sporting a very bad case of nightmares

Crazon - Caroline Ensis - A wood elf ranger who goes nowhere without her squirrel companion, Sigismund

Josh - Tate - A good-natured half-elf fighter with more muscle than subtlety

In this episode of David takes the helm and guides us through character creation in Scum and Villainy – a Forged in the Dark space opera RPG where odd jobs, sketchy company, and questionable life choices are part of the job description.

Song: Dusty Frontier

Three childhood friends, raised together in the same elven orphanage, reunite when letters from their beloved little sister mysteriously stop arriving. What starts as a nostalgic homecoming turns into something neither of them bargained for.

In this episode of RPX Rollup, we're rolling up characters for Renegade Game Studios' Hunter: The Reckoning 5th Edition, a modern horror RPG. Set in our own world — the here and now — but one where vampires, werewolves, and worse are hiding in plain sight and probably running the show, Hunter puts you in the boots of ordinary people who've had the veil ripped away, usually through trauma, and decided to do something about it anyway.

Song - Dead Angle Files

“Can you believe it? The Barony actually managed to get things done, even out there in a darker and twisted corner of the Nevernever, vanquishing an outer threat and bringing peace. Now after a somber victory and as things quiet down, it might be time for a little R&R to wrap things up. Nothing around these parts ever goes quietly into the night, however… Does it? Until next time Children… Sleep Well."

Chris/Crazon - GM

David - Ulrich Von Karkov (Werepanther/Baron of Eastern Kentucky)

“The King has been rescued, and the Dragon is furious. Its shadow looms ever deeper over The Falls. Now the Barony of Morehead must traverse the mists and strangeness of this old mining town, and face the Lair of the Beast itself. Until next time Children, pray for them my Children, pray… Sleep Well.”

In this episode of RPX Rollup, we're rolling up characters for Pelgrane Press's The Yellow King, a four-book boxed set built around Robert W. Chambers' collection of unsettling stories centered on a forbidden play that warps reality wherever it's read. Using a streamlined version of the Gumshoe system called QuickShock, this episode focuses on the first book — Paris, 1895 — where young American art students living romanticized, impoverished lives in Paris are about to discover that something is very wrong.

“In the misty forested recesses of Candle Cove Mall, old things stalk about in the servitude of the tainted Stillwood King. Seems our Lady Warden Skarsgard has stumbled upon one such denizen. Can the Baron and company rescue her and confront the Stillwood King successfully? Time will tell, frozen as it is. Until next time Children… Sleep Well.”
