In this episode, I talk about my experience of hearing the phrase “This is who I am, deal with it” from my ex-husband. The toxicity of this phrase should be a warning of their potential ill-treatment towards you. This is something that none of us should settle for in a romantic relationship, especially if you’ve dealt with a partner where they expect you to change for them.

In this episode, I talk about the importance of defining respect in your relationship. It’s important to have this conversation early on in your relationship, so you both understand what boundaries are not okay to cross. If you have been in a longer-term relationship and have not had this conversation it is important to still have it, in case lines have been crossed. Having an open and honest conversation around your definition of respect can help the overall health of your relationship with your partner.

In this episode, I talk about knowing and recognizing your own self-worth. There are those of us that allow others to decide and dictate what our self-worth is. Unfortunately, or fortunately, it’s the people that are closest to us that have the greatest impact on what we believe our self-worth to be. Each of us has to make a concerted effort to decide what we believe our self-worth is without the influence of outside forces, because we are each deserving of consideration, respect and love.

The hard love is the one that most of us will repeat over and over again, because we may not have learned our lesson. But the love that will last is the most rewarding, most peaceful, and the one that will be worth all the hard ache that you may have experienced.
