Nearly every household will receive an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census from either a postal worker or a census worker.  

Beware of Census Scams: Don’t trust caller ID — scammers can use “spoofing” tools to make it appear they are calling from a real Census Bureau number. Call the National Processing Center at 800-523-3205, 800-642-0469 or 800-877-8339 (TDD/TTY) to verify that a phone survey is legitimate.

In this episode, OVE's Tara Shaver talks with Nancy Andersen (MT) about her efforts to cultivate “community ambassadors.” These folks are volunteers in rural areas who represent AARP in their communities.  Participating volunteers draw on resources that meet the interests and opportunities in their communities. At this point, they are mostly ‘one man bands’ but the hope is that, over time, they will evolve into rural volunteer teams.
