Wendy is a Development Officer at United Way and before we met that's what I thought we were going to talk about for her episode of The Rough Draft Diaries... her work at United Way. But once we sat down Wendy mentioned she'd like to talk about her work with Equality Toledo instead. So we did.

No, we're not talking about the breakfast staple you may eat every morning, we're talking about the speech kind of toast. Toastmasters is an international organization that promotes strong public speaking and leadership skills within the public. I visit with Betty Metts the current president of The Oregon-Jerusalem Historical Society, a society established in 1963 by a group of local citizens led by Miss Josephine Fassett. ABLE is a  non-profit regional law firm that provides legal assistance in civil matters to help eligible low-income individuals and groups in western Ohio achieve self-reliance, and equal justice and economic opportunity.

She's a virtual assistant providing business writing, editing services, academic writing and administrative guidance for local organizations like the Multi-Faith Council of Toledo.
