First off, sorry if my enunciation is slurring or slow. I have had some issues with my muscles, which is why it took me forever to make this. I may have to resort fully to AI voice in the future if I get too annoyed with my own sound.
The recent American wars and incursions had me reflect on my perspective of the military throughout the years. I share some of my family history in relationship to the military. I discuss my Generation X acceptance (in the past) of leftist ideology, which was very prevalent in higher education. I then look at the situations in Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba, and think about the totalitarian governments in these areas. I once was a long time pacifist, but I have come to understand why people I have known proudly served in the military, or initially signed up. I would add that though this is a simplification of the situation, I understand how messy and terrible things become. War should be avoided. However, there are times when the threat of tyranny overrides keeping the peace. The challenge today, in my view, is that many Americans and other Westerners have equated Western Civilization, and Capitalism with tyranny, imagining the threat of domination while we live in freedom and wealth we would hand over to Socialism that would usher in actual tyranny. You are welcome to disagree, and to criticize, especially if you are in America, where you can be a Communist protester, making money inside a system that props you up with unalienable rights.
Either way, with love— thanks for listening, and disagreeing.
