Food access is a major issue in this country, including many rural parts of the U.S. This week, PG talks to Rial Carver, a rural grocer extension specialist at K-State Extension and a program director at the Rural Grocery Initiative, to learn more about initiatives aimed at enhancing food security for underserved populations and addressing food deserts. She also sheds light on the importance of succession planning at independent and often family-owned stores.
