For over 40 years Mike was one of the world’s most traveled journalist. He has won over 18 Emmy awards, honors from the Associated Press, he has reported all over the world and has a longtime running segment on NBC-TV since 1994 titled PC Mike which gets distributed to over 215 stations each week. 5 years ago he hit the road full-time with his wife Jennifer and started Roadtreking to document his travels across North America. As of today, it’s become one of the most popular RV blogs on the internet.

Peter and John didn’t hit the road with the intention of becoming Youtube stars or starting a business. To this day they don’t even consider themselves very entrepreneurial. Yet, they’ve managed to build a well known brand on Youtube and web design business with over 100 repeat customers.

Until this point, all of the RV entrepreneurs I’ve interviewed on this podcast have been running their business from their RV. On this episode, I interviewed someone who actually started a company within the RV industry.

At different times while pulling into campgrounds, Alyssa and I have considered the possibility of workamping (or camphosting). We have mostly had these thoughts when pulling into epic campgrounds like the KOA near Santa Cruz, California. You want to pay me and give me free lodging to work here part-time, just a few miles away from the ocean? Okay, no problem.

Today on the podcast I’m interviewing Rich Charpentier. Rich has a blog at the airstreamchronicles.com and owns a company called RLC Designs that focus on creating high end web design and SEO for RV parks and campgrounds. He’s been traveling in his airstream the past ten years while doing everything from professional photography to releasing his own digital products on the web.

I’ve been wanted to get started in drop shipping products for quite some time. Today on the podcast I sat down and interviewed someone who has been rocking the drop shipping world for quite some time. His name is David Couillard. David is a digital strategist and works with brands and businesses helping them build and maintain websites. However, he’s also started two other companies– a doggy poop bag business and a hard camera case drop shipping business.

“How do other women handle repairs and maintenance on the RV?”

“What are some safety tips?”

“Is it safe for me to hit the road by myself.”

Kate and I cover all of these on the podcast today and she talks about how she was able to transition her full-time employment with a consulting company to working on the road. She’s now been traveling all over the country in her Winnebago Travato for more than a year and a half.

Today on the podcast I sat down to talk with Sigfried from TrailandHitch.com. Sigfried was a software developer for more than 20 years, making over $100k and then decided he’d had enough with office politics and sitting inside an office all day. Towards the end of last year Sig and his wife hit the road and decided to try out the full-time RV lifestyle. They sold their house, bought an airstream and hit the road.

This year Cees and Madison are traveling to all 59 national parks. Last fall they were still in college and working in part-time sales for a real estate company. On episode #20 of the RVE podcast I chat with them about how they were able to get sponsored by major companies and completely fund their quest to 59 national parks.

Today on the show I’m interviewing a couple of musicians that go by Winnie Brave, aka Amy and Brad, who describe themselves as a “soulful composite of roots and folk”. They are a husband and wife band that just recently got off a 4-month tour around the US in their… wait for it, 1976 Winnebago Brave! This is the Winnebago Brave classic RV that Alyssa’s and my retro version is modeled after.
