  • Deputies are investigating after someone smashed into Palette Cakes in Carmichael early Wednesday and stole the bakery’s register — despite the shop being cashless.Two violent incidents reported Tuesday in Sacramento.
  • Shooting at the 2300 block of North Avenue around 9:20 p.m. Adult victim hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. No suspect info released.
  • Felony assault arrest at the 1300 block of Florin Road around 5:49 p.m. Suspect allegedly struck an elderly person with a metal bike chain. Arrest made.

Both investigations remain active.
