Sacramento fatal hit-and-run investigation
Sacramento Police are investigating a deadly vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash that happened Saturday night near Norwood Avenue and Jessie Avenue in North Sacramento. An adult male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Two vehicles were involved — one remained while the second fled the scene. The Sacramento Police Major Collision Investigation Unit is handling the case.

South Sacramento pursuit ends in crash and vehicle fire
Sacramento County deputies arrested 33-year-old Ricky Harding after a vehicle pursuit Saturday night near 15th Avenue and 42nd Street. During the chase, Harding turned off his headlights and ran a stop sign at 8th Avenue and 43rd Street, colliding with a Sacramento Police patrol vehicle. Harding’s car later caught fire, and he attempted to flee on foot before being arrested. He is being held on $500,000 bail.
Sacramento County donation supports Bradshaw Animal Shelter
The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approved a $359,823 donation from the estate of Robert W. Steger to support programs at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter. The funds will expand spay-and-neuter services and MASH mobile clinics, helping reduce unwanted litters and shelter overcrowding.
