Deadly Hit-and-Run: Police Seek the Driver

Sacramento Police are asking for help identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run near Luther Drive and Florin Road. An adult male bicyclist was struck early Monday morning and died at the scene. Witnesses may call Sacramento Police at 916-808-5471 or Crime Stoppers at 916-443-HELP.

Also: A probation search reportedly led to a loaded-firearm and narcotics arrest on F Street, while officers arrested a burglary suspect after responding to a La Riviera Drive residence with the homeowner still inside.

Elk Grove Pursuit Turns Fatal, Sacramento Celebrates Women of Impact

• Elk Grove arson investigation: Police say a suspected arsonist died from a self-inflicted injury following a pursuit Saturday evening. An officer fired after the suspect allegedly aimed what was later identified as a pellet gun at a police helicopter. Police say the suspect was not struck by gunfire. The investigation continues. • Fatal stabbing on Stockton Boulevard: An adult man died after deputies responded to a stabbing in the 6700 block of Stockton Boulevard just after 9 p.m. Saturday. Anyone with information should call the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office at 916-874-5115. Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office update

Four Injured in Shooting Near Sacramento State

Sacramento police are investigating an early-morning shooting near Granite Regional Park that left four people injured. Investigators have not confirmed whether it is connected to a separate report of gunfire at Sacramento State.

Rosemont Standoff Ends in Death, Madison Avenue Shooting & Labor Day Weekend Events
