[NEWS]

  • Elk Grove homicide update: Elk Grove Police Department says a suspect is now in custody in the November 2, 2025 shooting at Z Town Gastro Pub on Elk Grove Florin Road that left two people dead.
  • Detectives identified the suspect as 43-year-old Roderick Randall, currently held in Texas on federal charges.
  • Randall is expected to be extradited to Sacramento County after the federal case concludes, where he faces two counts of homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
  • Anyone with information is urged to contact Elk Grove police.
  • Rancho Cordova arrest: A woman was arrested after police say she used a fake ID during a traffic stop.
  • Officers reportedly found stolen mail, checks, mailbox keys, and meth.
  • She was booked into the Sacramento County Jail as the investigation continues.

  • SacRT alert: Bus routes 19 and 88 will skip the Grove & Del Paso stop during daytime construction through January 15.
  • Riders should use the alternate stop at Grove & El Monte.
  • Looking ahead, Sacramento Regional Transit Gold Line service disruptions run January 26 through February 5 for track maintenance and safety upgrades.
