  • [NEWS]
    • Shooting near Evergreen Street and Arden Way: One person is dead and another hospitalized after a shooting Tuesday evening. Police say a suspect was detained by SWAT around 11 p.m. Road closures remained in place for several hours during the investigation, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
    • Perimeter on Unity Point Avenue: Officers established a perimeter in the 2800 block of Unity Point Avenue while searching for a suspect with an outstanding warrant, possibly armed with a knife. SWAT and crisis negotiators were called in. Police have not released an update on the suspect’s status.
    • Wrong-way DUI arrest downtown: Just after 1:30 a.m. near 10th and L Streets, officers spotted a vehicle driving the wrong way. The driver fled briefly, then yielded and was found to be intoxicated. An arrest was made on related charges.
