NEWS

  • Midtown Stabbing: One man is recovering after a stabbing Wednesday night in Sacramento’s Midtown. Police responded just after 7 p.m. near I Street and 10th Street. The victim’s injuries are not life-threatening, and a person of interest has been detained.
  • Federal Fraud Case: A Sacramento man pleaded guilty to wire fraud after defrauding an investor of more than $777,000. Prosecutors say 57-year-old Jaswant Singh Gill ran a fake investment firm, spent the money on personal expenses, and now faces up to 20 years in prison.

  • Sacramento County hosts a Jail System Planning Listening Session Monday, January 26, from 6–8 p.m. Community input requested on jail care, reentry, and system improvements under a federal consent decree.
