North Sacramento deputies arrested a man following a violent barricade incident Sunday morning on Marconi Avenue.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, investigators say 40-year-old Jesse James Halleib threatened a 77-year-old woman, disconnected her 9-1-1 call while she was speaking with dispatch, and barricaded himself inside the home. A sheriff’s K-9 was deployed, and Halleib was taken into custody without further incident. He is due in court today. The victim was not physically injured.
Separately, sheriff’s officials say they have arrested a man accused of stealing copper wire along the light rail system on Christmas Eve.
Investigators say 32-year-old Addison Jones was caught cutting copper wire between the Sunrise and Hazel stations, damaging power poles supporting the overhead catenary system. Deputies recovered stolen copper wire and burglary tools. Jones remains in custody on $35,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court January 12.
