Quick heads-up for pet owners — January is Dog License Amnesty Month in Sacramento County.

All month long, past-due fees and penalties are waived for dogs that have never been licensed. Licensing is required by law and includes proof of a current rabies vaccination — helping protect pets, people, and the community.

Bradshaw Animal Shelter is also offering vaccination clinics, and in some cases, rabies shots may be free with a license purchase.

If your dog isn’t licensed yet, January is the easiest time to take care of it.
