- Explosion Investigation – Howe Avenue Firefighters are investigating an explosion at an apartment complex that left a woman with a serious hand injury. No fire was found, and officials confirm the incident was not related to fireworks. The cause remains under investigation.
- Shooting Investigation – Valley Hi Drive Sacramento Police are investigating after a man walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound. The shooting is believed to have occurred in the 6600 block of Valley Hi Drive. No suspect information has been released.
- Burglary Arrest – Woodland Oaks Way A suspect was arrested after fleeing a burglary in progress. Police say the individual was already out on bail for a previous burglary case.
- Stolen Vehicle Arrest – South Sacramento Officers recovered a stolen vehicle near Florin Road and 24th Street. The driver was detained and arrested without incident.
- City Watch: Heat Reduction Strategy Sacramento city and county leaders are working with the Urban Land Institute to reduce extreme heat. Plans include expanding tree canopy, increasing shade, and using cooler building materials in high-heat areas.
- Weather Tuesday begins with dense fog before clearing to sunny skies and a high near 89. Overnight lows around 55.
