NEWS
A stabbing victim walked into Sacramento Fire Department Station 20 Thursday afternoon after being attacked at Hagginwood Park.
Police say the victim arrived around 4:30 p.m. on Rio Linda Boulevard and was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
Sacramento police have arrested 18-year-old John Cruz, a second suspect in the October Meadowview homicide that left 21-year-old Matthew Jhameil Anderson dead. Another suspect was arrested shortly after the shooting.
And in Rancho Cordova, a 14-year-old boy was arrested after leading officers on a 55-mph e-bike pursuit before surrendering on the American River Bike Trail.
The teen was booked into juvenile hall and his parents were cited.
CITY WATCH
This week marks National Weights and Measures Week, honoring the first U.S. weights and measures law signed by John Adams in 1799.
In Sacramento County, the Division of Weights and Measures investigates pricing complaints and checks store scanners, fuel pumps, packaged goods, and commercial scales.
Last year inspectors handled 97 consumer complaints, including 25 cases of overcharges.
Residents who believe they were overcharged can file a complaint with the county.
