• A high-speed CHP pursuit through North Sacramento ended in a fiery crash and multiple felony charges. A minor driver led officers on a dangerous chase after running a red light, reaching triple-digit speeds and driving the wrong way on Business 80. The pursuit ended in a crash near the Bell Street off-ramp, where the vehicle burst into flames. The suspect continued briefly before abandoning the car near Auburn Boulevard and was found hiding nearby. Officials say the case highlights the serious risks reckless driving poses to the community.
• Two suspects were arrested after a stolen vehicle incident on the 2000 block of Sandcastle Way. Officers responded to a theft in progress. The suspects fled in the vehicle, crashed during a brief pursuit, and attempted to escape on foot before both were taken into custody.

CITY WATCH

• Sacramento is expanding access to arts education with the relaunch of artlook Sacramento platform, a tool connecting schools with local teaching artists and cultural organizations. The updated platform allows users to search by discipline, program type, and age group—making it easier for schools and youth programs to bring arts into the classroom. News:

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in Fair Oaks that left one man critically injured.

Deputies responded to the 8800 block of North Winding Way, where they found a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Authorities say the man remains in critical condition, with a gunshot wound lodged in his brain.

A man detained at the scene has been identified as the suspect, though no additional identifying information has been released.

SPD investigates a stabbing on River Plaza Drive and reports of gunfire from a vehicle on South Avenue.

A pursuit near L and 6th Streets ends with an arrest after assistance from the Sheriff’s STAR helicopter.
