The Sadercast

After a split against Army last weekend and in their midweek matchups, the baseball team invites the Navy Midshipmen into town for a massive weekend series in Worcester. Augie and Ben sit down with senior starting pitcher Alex Bryant to talk about his strong outing last week and what he expects to come.

The two then talk men’s and women’s lacrosse as they both have massive games on Saturday as well.

Moving on from Holy Cross, Augie and Ben recap March Madness and the utter dominance from the Uconn Huskies, discuss the significance of Jackson Holliday being brought up by the Orioles, how the pitch clock may be causing significant pitcher injuries, and make some picks for Masters week!

After another week off due to Easter, Augie and Ben are back with an all-time entertaining episode.

The show starts with a deep dive into Amanda Belichick’s girls on the Holy Cross Women’s LAX team, as they’ve won 8 straight and are searching for a ninth. Junior attacker Isabela Miller joins the show as well to talk about the season and her recent breaking of the single-season WLAX assists records.

Next, the boys recap the biggest sporting event of the Holy Cross year: HC vs Iowa. The boys talk the game, the fallout, and the future.

There’s also a segment on what Ben referred to as “bat and ball sports”: a look at the HC baseball team after their huge 4-1 run this past weekend, as well as a quick look at the softball team.

Lastly, the boys discuss the absolute insanity that has been March Madness in 2024, including discussion on Jack Gohlke, Yale, DJ Burns, and more of everyone’s favorite parts of the tournament. There’s also some discussion of the recent NFL Pro Day held at Holy Cross, which Ben was attending as a member of the media.

With the Holy Cross Women’s team reaching the NCAA tournament, Augie and Ben break down their Patriot League tournament run and preview their big matchup in the land of the corn.

Next, Ben goes on an all time rant about the officiating as he recaps the men’s hockey weekend series defeat against AIC.

Finally, the two talk about the surge that is coming from the 6-2 Women’s Lacrosse team and highlight the first round matchups of the Men’s NCAA Basketball tournament!

This week on the Sadercast, Augie is back from William & Mary and ready to talk all things Crusader sports.
Topics this week include the basketball teams' final push to the playoffs, the hockey teams' final weekend of regular season play, the surprise surge of the lacrosse teams, and the opening series of the baseball season. Don't ask Augie what his ERA is.

Finally, it’s Super Bowl week, so there is a ton to talk about before the game in Vegas this weekend. 

To round out the episode, the Phoenix Suns get broken down, and fittingly, Augie and Ben discuss one of the biggest parties of the year, the People’s Open in Arizona, as the PGA heads to TPC Scottsdale and it’s sure to be a wild weekend there!

Sadercast is back for the spring semester! Ben Lepper and Augie Walters, everyone's favorite Crusader insiders, have returned, and a lot has happened since their last episode.
This episode features discussion of the recent losses in the transfer portal for Holy Cross football, as well as the addition of a new coaching staff.
Also, the two discuss the recent "whiteout" double sweep of Boston University's basketball teams, as well as both hockey teams' recent successes. Bronagh Power-Cassidy also joins the show to speak on the Women's Basketball team's latest surge to the top of the Patriot League.
To finish things off, Ben and Augie dive deep into the NBA's best team, and provide some insight on the upcoming Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The boys are back and better than ever, so be sure to tune in for another great semester!

To wrap things up, Augie and Ben highlight the initial big moves in the MLB off season, including free agency and trades that have gone down, as well as discuss some of the large dominoes that have yet to fall.
