The Same Old Dolphins Show

The Miami Dolphins will have their hands full once again in Week 4 as, for the fourth consecutive week, they take on an unbeaten opponent. This time, they head to Minneapolis to take on the Vikings.

Kevin O'Connell's team has had a herky-jerky start to the season, losing starting QB Kyler Murray to a concussion early in Week 1 which caused him to miss Week 2 as well. Then, when Murray returned in Week 3, star wide receiver Justin Jefferson injured his ankle. While the Vikings' offense is something of an unknown quantity due to the injuries, their defense has been every bit as tenacious as the league has come to expect, with Defensive Coordinator and former Miami Dolphins Head Coach Brian Flores sending a blitz on nearly 70% of defensive snaps.

The Dolphins meanwhile are coming off their best showing of the young season, holding the Kansas City Chiefs to within a single score until late in their Week 3 matchup. Miami has injury woes of their own, having lost star running back De'Von Achane to season-ending ACL injury, but they showed a firy spirit and will hope that the lessons learned thus far can lead the way to a surprising result on the road in Week 4.

IT'S A (moral) VICTORY MONDAY!

The 0-3 Miami Dolphins played their best game of the season so far on Sunday, but ultimately didn't have the horses to compete with the Kansas City Chiefs, falling 24-10 in their home opener.

While the team, particularly its youngest players, showed promise, it ended up being a costly game, as the team lost star running back De'Von Achane for the rest of the season to a torn ACL in the first quarter.

Still, it was a brighter day than most this season. On today's show, Aaron and Josh are back to discuss:

🐬 Improvement from Malik Willis

🐬 Consistent impact from Jacob Rodriguez

🐬 Ollie Mania

🐬 Chris Bell's Good Day

🐬 The ups and downs of a young roster

🐬 How the Dolphins handle the absence of Achane

With their season-opening west coast trip behind them, the Miami Dolphins return to Hard Rock Stadium for their home opener. Unfortunately for them, the schedule doesn't really let up as Patrick Mahomes and the 2-0 Kansas City Chiefs come to town.

What can the Dolphins do to matchup with the Chiefs on both sides of the ball? Can their defense slow down the multi-faceted Kansas City offense? Can the offense consistently move the ball against Steve Spagnuolo's masterful defense? Will the Hard Rock Stadium crowd provide the Dolphins with some much-needed home cooking?

Most reasonable people expected the Miami Dolphins to lose big to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2 of the 2026 NFL Season and, to the surprise of none of those people, the Miami Dolphins did, in fact, lose big to the San Francisco 49ers.

The Dolphins ended up on the short end of a 35-13 scoreline. After keeping the game close in the first half, the Dolphins were exposed in the 3rd quarter when the 49ers effectively put the game to bed.

Was it all bad? Was there improvement anywhere? Was there reason for optimism? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it all on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!

After a disappointing debut in Week 1, Jeff Hafley's Miami Dolphins travel to Santa Clara, California in Week 2 to take on the San Francisco 49ers.

San Francisco arrives at their home opener fresh off a dominant 27-7 victory over the LA Rams in Australia. The 49ers essentially had their way with the Rams, limiting their offense and abusing their defense. So how do the Dolphins match up with Kyle Shanahan's team?

In a word, poorly.

What must the Dolphins do to make Sunday's contest competitive? Can the players who disappointed in Week 1 bounce back? Can the players who started well keep it up?
