The Samuel Akem Show

In this Akem's Analysis, I discuss the BOMBSHELL injury to North Dakota's All-American pass rusher, Lance Rucker. What does it mean for the Fighting Hawks to start the season? Montana picked captains for the first time under Bobby Kennedy; I have some thoughts. Tennessee Tech has named a starting QB going into Week 0, and they have a tall task ahead of them with Monmouth. The Pat McQuaide saga took another turn, and it may be the final nail in the coffin. All of this and more in this week's Akem's Analysis!

In this week's Football Friday, I'm talking about the one player who I feel Montana State can't lose. UC Davis is in the midst of a quarterback battle, but does whoever that starter ends up being really matter? NFL players are now coming back to play college football, and it feels like college football is completely off the rails. All of this and more in this episode.

In this week's Akem's Analysis, Keaton Gillogly, the voice of the Bobcats Football & Basketball teams, joins the show. We talked about how things have been for the Bobcats since winning the national championship game, and how the experience has been for him as the play-by-play guy for the team. He also talked about how things have been in camp, and who has been catching his eye. All of this and more in this Akem's Analysis episode

In this Akem's Analysis, I discussed the Pat McQuaide situation and how the latest updates seem to indicate he won't be able to play, FOR NOW. But with all the developments, things could change in a day. UTRGV is planning to go with a 2-QB system, and I have some thoughts on whether that situation works. The MVFC & Big Sky are playing 4 games against each other in the regular season. I give my thoughts on how I feel those matchups will turn out. All of this and more in this episode. Stay tuned for the entire episode.

In this week's FBS Wednesday, I will be chatting about NDSU and their upcoming season in the FBS, where they WILL be eligible for postseason play after a new ruling for transitioning teams. Jason Eck is looking to win big at New Mexico, but how much longer will he be in the MWC before getting a bigger job? Former FCS WR Tony Diaz is at Iowa showing out, but is Iowa the right school for premier WRs? All of this and more in this week's Akem's Analysis!

In this week's NFL Tuesday, I talked about the rookie QBs who played in the preseason and how they performed. I also looked at some of the important battles in training camp, like the Browns' starting QB battle and how it's truly going to turn out. The Cowboys added Von Miller. Does that make them a real contender, or is it just a shiny new piece? How have the rookies been performing in the preseason? All of this and more in this week's NFL Tuesday.

In this Inaugural episode of The Samuel Akem Show, I talk about my preseason Redshirt Sports poll and how I voted compared to the rest of the field. Rhode Island and Villanova both got big-time stars back due to the new court ruling, and they have some of the teams trending in the right direction. But can their players be ready to go to start the season? Some QB jobs are tightening up? Who will come out with the win in the end? All of this and more in this week's Akem's Analysis!

In this week's Akem's Analysis, I'm discussing my thoughts about the Grizzlies after one week of practice. There's some good, and there's some bad, but it's early. I also discuss South Dakota's QB job and what it means if a freshman is battling with veterans. I picked one breakout player from each Big Sky school for the 2026 season. All of this and more in this week's Akem's Analysis.
