While I think it has always been important for Christians to know what they believe and why they believe it, it is especially important in these days. We live in a marketplace of competing beliefs and worldviews all vying for our allegiance. And if you don’t know what you believe and why you believe it, you will find yourself “tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching” (Ephesians 4:14) that comes our way. But if we know what we believe and why we believe it, we will be able to resist those people and ideas that try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.
