Professor John G. Kassakian is a Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering at MIT, specializing in the areas of power electronics, power systems, and automotive electrical systems. A true pioneer in his field, not only was he the founding president of the IEEE Power Electronics Society, but he also co-authored Principles of Power Electronics (often referred to as KSV), which is one of the most popular textbooks on power electronics.
So much of our performance in an academic environment depends on how we perform on exams, yet this is one of the places that students tend to struggle the most. The main topic of this episode comes from a question I got asked by a student of mine. He was interested in finding out what I think about time management when it comes to focusing on a main task (in his case, his degree) and trying to work on side projects, or applying himself in other directions.
