In this episode of The Sassy Sisters Show, Lisa and Rita celebrate the dog days of summer and National Dog Day by sharing the stories of the dogs they love - including Sadie, their beloved miniature dachshund, and Tess, a rescue dog with an incredible story.
Sadie joins in the Shark Week fun, while the sisters talk about her life as a dachshund, the health challenges she's faced and why she's affectionately known as their "million-dollar dog."
But the animals don't stop there.
The sisters head to the Jersey Shore, take their Snackle Box to the beach (and quickly discover why hungry seagulls and an open box of snacks aren't a great combination!), and visit Twisties by the Bay in Strathmere, New Jersey, complete with its old-school Jersey Shore atmosphere, jukebox and famously creepy coconut heads.
Lisa also shares her experience raising monarch butterflies, explaining the fascinating journey from monarch egg to caterpillar, chrysalis and finally butterfly.
